ISO/IEC 20000-1 is the international standard for IT Service Management Systems (ITSMS). It helps organizations deliver IT services consistently, reliably and with a continual improvement focus.
Scope of application
ISO 20000-1 is relevant for organizations that deliver IT services to internal or external customers, including IT service providers, data centers, internal IT departments, and software-as-a-service (SaaS) organizations.

- Service continuity and availability management
ISO 20000-1 does not specifically require ITIL adoption, but many organizations use ITIL as a best-practice toolkit to meet the standard's requirements.
